• Training for Voluntary Groups:  The Wokingham Volunteer Centre is putting on 2 free days of interactive training to increase awareness of different types of disabilities and answer concerns that people may have about taking on volunteers with extra needs.  The training days will be Thurs 3rd June or Thurs 9th September at the Crescent Centre in Lower Earley, 10am -3pm with a free buffet lunch.  To reserve your place and find out more information, please contactthe Volunteer Centre on tel: 0118 977 0749 or email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. • Autism Awareness Training Workshops:  There are still a few places left on the half-day Autism Awareness Workshops on Thurs 10th June, Thurs 15th July and Thurs 22nd July.  All these workshops will be held at the Bradbury Centre, Wokingham from 9am-1pm.  Costs range from £10 to £30.  For more information, please contact Michael or Robert at Wokingham Mencap via email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. • Is your Young Person becoming an Adult?:  Are you worried, excited or concerned?  Do you have concerns that the services in the future may not be what your young person needs?  Person Centred Planning is a way of helping you and your child/young person find out what they would really like to do with their life and plan how this could be achieved.  Dy Rush is developing this approach in Wokingham and is looking for family carers of young people aged 14-18 years and those that have just been through the transition process to assist her.  A group meets every 6 weeks to look athow they can offer Person Centred Planning to all young people.  To find out more and be part of the group, please contact Dy on tel: 0118 974 6881 or email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
