Subject: Please vote for one of our 'B.I.G' ideas
    Hi there,
Apologies for the blanket email, hope you are well.
Barrage Media in conjunction with Flexible Films have put ourselves forward for a public vote and we are asking you to take part. The proposed project is to launch an e-resource on how to use film therapeutically and creatively. It is called 'How to film for mental health: an e-resource.' Voting ends on March 18th and we need as much support as possible so we will be really grateful if you could vote and forward this email to others.
The site is linked to the Dept of Health and is:
    http://www.big.dh.gov.uk
Once you have found our idea, click 'register' and fill in password and email address. When you return to our idea, click on the stars to vote - 5 stars is excellent.
We hope you will take a few minutes to vote because we really believe that developing an e-resource on how to film for mental health will provide a space for this important field to evolve and expand. There is a description of the project as well as a short film.
    Thanks a million,
    Hannah Chamberlain

New initiative offers support into work for people with learning disabilities

A new pilot scheme – Jobs First – will support people with learning disabilities to find paid jobs Care Services Minister Phil Hope announced today.

Since 2007, people with learning disabilities have had the right to choose what care they receive and pay for it with a personal budget. Jobs First will help them use this money to get the support they need to move towards lasting employment.

Less than 10 percent of adults with learning disabilities known to councils in England are in paid employment, which can lead them to greater disadvantage and social exclusion.

The declaration calls for a radical increase in investment to research mental health. It has the backing of dozens of leading scientists and public figures including Alistair Campbell, Jo Brand, Ruby Wax, Tracey Emin, Stephen Fry, Melanie C and Mercury award winner Speech Debelle.

Show your support for the declaration and help us reach 10,000 sign ups to show the Government, the National Health Service, funding bodies, research institutions, the pharmaceutical industry and the third sector, why we need more investment in mental health research.

Together we can change the future of mental health.
